National Bank – Head Office

The new head office of the National Bank of Canada will reshape the landscape of downtown Montreal. With its 40 storeys and more than 11,000 employees, this building marks the bank’s return to rue Saint-Jacques, once the financial heart of the country. It succeeds the former head office, located on de la Gauchetière Street since 1983, and launches a new chapter for the institution.

Throughout the years of construction, Cordero’s teams of dozens of workers joined forces with the major builder to ensure impeccable workmanship. From the site preparations carried out each morning by our labourers to the most complex carpentry work entrusted to our carpenters, Cordero has demonstrated its reliability and expertise. Over a period of four years, our unfailing commitment enabled us to deliver a signature project that today blends seamlessly into the Montreal landscape.

“When I walk past this building with my children, I’ll be able to tell them with pride that it was I who built it.” – Mathieu, Cordero ally

Interestingly, while 800 rue Saint-Jacques was taking shape, three other buildings were going up simultaneously in the same Montreal junction for the same builder. Our Cordero allies were involved in all these projects, from high-rise residential to commercial buildings.

Once again, the involvement of Cordero’s allies in large-scale projects enables major builders to concentrate on their projects, while streamlining and optimizing labour management. Cordero, ally of major builders.
